They have not suffered enough yet

That sounds cruel, but it is the way most of us work, or don’t work. Whether it is a hangnail or that pile of stuff in the attic we know it needs to be cleaned up or fixed… “But there are so many other more important, more interesting, more fun things to do.” Things that won’t get us dirty or tire us out. So we wait until that hangnail snags something or wait for Spring when we “have more energy.”

Isn’t that he way life mostly plays out? How come many people run out of money before they run out of month? This is exactly what politicians count on. If they can make the inner workings of government and the law so complicated, most people will roll their eyes, walk away and the insiders will get what they want and charge you (the taxpayer) for the experience. I just finished a book about the crashed Boeing 737Max. One of the tricks Boeing used to protect themselves from the FAA inspectors was giving them a “file drawer full of paper” to explain how and why the questionably functions worked (or didn’t work). That way Boeing was cooperating with the government inspectors and the inspectors were doing their job, but the end result was hundreds of dead passengers for mistakes that could have and should have been fixed.

So we live in a very convenient, comfortable world. We have 24-7 TV and internet, more food than most of need and for most people fixes – financial and medical for bumps in the road of life. So we concentrate on our issues and hope the government will just be honest and interested in our welfare and not bother us. Increasingly we have found that this is like hoping the fox guarding the hen house will still give us eggs and supper without too much “shrinkage.” I have long said: I do not want to be my own garbage man, policeman, fireman, or snowplow driver. As long as the politicians only steal a little, I will gladly pay my taxes.

Recent elections have proven that we have made success in politics way too profitable and powerful for nearly all the government. When government employees have guaranteed jobs, with outrageous benefits at wages that exceed the private sector what did you think would happen? FDR, the patron saint of Democrats, said there should never be unions of government employees, because he could see that both the bosses and the unions would collude against the taxpayer.

In this era of cyber everything, those in power from the US government to the Davos men have the means to track and control every aspect of your life. (Understand that everything you do or say on your cellphone or computer is saved and can be used against you by those in power.) The government wants to create a US Bitcoin in part so they can track and turn off your money supply whenever they want. The more power you give to politicians the more power and control they will take and demand, “for your own good” or “for the children.” If you want to see how this movie ends check out the Communist Chinese Social Credit System and the punishment the CCP deals out to the current protestors.

As Americans we have had it so good for so long, we just cannot imagine our life will be corrupted by those nice people we see on TV. We are so busy running our daily lives we do not want to take the time, study or energy to monitor the very, very complicated issues of the government and laws. Yet those very people and administrators making the rules are the ones that will blithely steal from you to enrich themselves. Just consider the highly rated President of MetroHealth who was just fired for paying himself bonuses of $1.9 million without the board’s approval. He just thought he could and nobody complained until now. Can you imagine how much of your tax money is lost to waste, fraud and abuse…in Medicare they admit up to 50% of the Medicare money collected gets wasted that way.

The American Republic was created for a citizenry that was educated and involved in the success of the whole country. Ben Franklin was asked by a woman outside Independence Hall, “What kind of a government have you given us, Mr. Franklin?” Ben answered, “A republic madam, if you can keep it?” The only way we can keep it and avoid being the victims of the socialist totalitarians, is if we are willing to pay attention to, guard and purge the hen house.

The forced government suffering will continue until the electorate improves.
