The Merchan effect
Let’s put a little creativity together with some political panache and consider the learning experience that the lawfare attack on President Trump could present. Let’s imagine since the President has been convicted in Judge Merchan’s courtroom that the president would come out with a statement like this:
“As the wheels of justice are grinding to prove my innocence, I want to confess that I made a mistake counting on the NY courts and the best legal team I could find to explain how a business records question could be a felony for anyone. Through this process however, I learned how many of the folks in New York City have been able to swindle the tax payer and the legal system. While I was busy building hotels and shopping centers it appears the level of corruption, double dealing and tax fraud in the city has gotten gigantically out of hand.
Thanks to Judge Merchan and the local prosecutor my team and I were educated on the hundreds of swindles the big money names in and around Wall Street have pulled on the courts and the taxpayer. This is not putting America First. In fact, the more my team learned in their research, the more NYC seemed to be a third world country.
So once I am officially in office, I will direct all those 19,000 IRS collectors Biden hired to establish their office in New York City and begin to investigate and retrieve the money that has been misused and the taxes that were avoided. I hope within a couple years these dedicated IRS professionals will be able to straighten out the illegality and make New York City great again.”
